West Linn Wilsonville school district vote to keep explicit books
At tonight’s school board meeting, West Linn Wilsonville school district voted to keep explicit books that parents have been working to get restricted for 5 months. The district thinks, Lawn Boy, Flamer, Crank, Beyond Magenta, Milk & Honey, The sun and Her Flowers, Heartstopper, Me and Earl and the Dying Girl--books that depict and describe in lurid and graphic details, rape, oral sex-including that of a 6yr old, suicide , drug use- are "making the students want to read & to enjoy reading, appropriate for their age group, enrich and support the schools curricula & the districts instructional goals, & contributes to the goal and include representations of religious, ethnic, cultural, gender/sexual orientation, & other identity groups. Tell me @WLWVdistrict What religious group is identified in these books? The church of Satan?
